Obituary

Jean Burnham Fletcher, 83, of Fitzgerald, Georgia died Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at her residence.

Funeral services will be held 11 A.M. Friday, August 6, 2010 at Central United Methodist Church with Rev. Keith Goodlett and Rev. Dr. Warren Burnham, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends 7-9 on Thursday evening at the funeral home.

Mrs. Fletcher was born May 14, 1927 in Rhine to Adolphus and Emmie Gaultney Burnham. She was a 1945 graduate of Rhine High School and attended Ben Hill-Irwin Technical School. Mrs. Fletcher was a former resident of Macon where she was a supervisor for Bell Telephone and she was a bookkeeper for Jack Fletcher’s Companies in Fitzgerald. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church, the Jessie Thompson Sunday School class and was a former Sunday school teacher for the toddlers. Mrs. Fletcher was a member of the Order Of The Eastern Star. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and loved to cook.

Mrs. Fletcher is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law: Lynn & Teresa Fletcher and Olin & Gina Fletcher, all of Fitzgerald; daughters and son-in-law: Eileen Dozier and Iva & David Eggett, all of Fitzgerald; 15 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; brother: Delton Burnham of Rhine as well as several nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Fletcher, 2 grandchildren, 5 sisters, 6 brothers and 1 son-in-law.
