Obituary

Jimmy Davis, 43, of Ocilla, died Friday, July 2, 2010 at Crisp Regional Hospital in Cordele.

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at Satilla Baptist Church, Irwin County with Rev. Dan Johnson, Rev. William Pope, and Rev. Barry Gordon officiating. Interment will follow in Holt Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 Monday evening at the funeral home in Ocilla.

Mr. Davis was born February 17, 1967 in Dunedin, Florida to Jim and Judy Midkiff Davis. Mr. Davis attended Perry High School in Perry and Milwaukee Technical School in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He was a farmer and worked for Hudson Pecan Farms. He was a former machinist and CNC operator for Hoy’s Machine Shop in Hawkinsville and a former support manager for Tire & Lube Express at the Fitzgerald Wal-Mart Supercenter. Along with his wife and children, Mr. Davis owned and operated Southern Scouting and Soil Sampling. He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Fort Valley and attended Satilla Baptist Church. He had lived in the community for the past 11 years coming from Hawkinsville. Mr. Davis was a member of the Irwin County Coon Hunters Association and the founder of the Blue Dog Mafia. He was an avid fisherman and coon hunter and loving his children and family was his life.

Mr. Davis is survived by his wife: Belinda McDonald Davis, children: Bryan “Tater” Davis, K.C. Daniel Davis, and Maci Lynn Davis, all of Ocilla; his parents: Jim & Judy Davis of Fitzgerald; brother: Douglas C. Davis of Albuquerque, New Mexico; mother-in-law and father-in-law: Flo & Wendell McDonald of Wray; brother-in-law: Ken & Kayla McDonald of Doyles; niece: Kendal McDonald of Warner Robins; one step-niece; one step-nephew as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
