So sad to hear of your Dad's passing.. So many childhood memories-either sledding on Christmas or reunions at the lake, your Dad always brought the steamers and they were always soooo good! You are all in my thoughts.

My family and I had the privilege of attending Walter's ceremony during the past year. It was inspiring to see and hear from one of America's true hero's. We were very moved and will never forget how humble Walter was during the entire ceremony. Rest assured, he is in the best of company. And meeting him was something you never forgot. A very proud and honorable man. His grasp on the values of life were a lesson for anyone he talked with. I thanked him once for all he had done for me those many years ago. He replied that he believed I meant it. I was so honored by his comment.
He lived life his way and was sure of his commitments. I'm sure he is watching over all his "buddies" as I write.

My family lived on High Street and when I was a kid I didn't know anything about his military record. I just knew when anyone on High street needed anything Walter was there to help. Nothing could be sadder than to hear of Mr. Borowski's passing. He lead a full and heroic life; which included not only military heroics, but the surviving day to day living in an enthusiastic and humorous manner. No one can really know how much "Wally B." added to my life, and I will not diminish the memories with words; suffice to say he was one of the joyful colors interwoven in my tapestry of life. David, Danny and I offer you all our most heartfelt condolances. Hopefully we will all meet again at a future date... hydrostonically speaking.
