Obituary

METHUEN – John W. Teutonico 82 of Methuen, died Tuesday April 27, 2010 at Mary Immaculate Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after long courageous battle with cancer surrounded by his loving family.
Born and educated in Lawrence he was the son of Arthur and Ellen (Gavin) Teutonico, he was a graduate of Lawrence High School and Vesper George School of Art. During World War II he served in the U.S. Navy and was honorably discharged. For 25 years he was employed with Raytheon in Burlington, MA as a graphic artist, retiring in 1993. He was a parishioner of St. Monica’s Church in Methuen, where he was a CCD teacher for 30 years, a Eucharistic Minister and was very active in the RCIA. He was also an avid Boston sports fan.
He leaves his wife of 57 years Barbara A. (Marggraf) Teutonico of Methuen, MA.
Daughter Jean Pierce and her husband William of Methuen, Susan Croteau and her husband Steve of Salem, NH.
One son Brian Teutonico of Dracut, MA.
One sister Suzanne Batchelor and her husband Robert of Pelham, NH
John is also survived by his brothers-in-law Paul E. Marggraf of Methuen, Rev. Brian Marggraf, SSCC of Fairhaven, MA and sister-in-law Margaret O’Donnell and husband William of Seabrook, NH.
Four grandchildren Beth Hellman and her husband Brian of Methuen, Katie Pierce and her fiancé Don Goyette of Lowell, MA, Matthew Croteau and Lindsay Croteau both of Salem, NH
One great-grandson Thomas William Hellman of Methuen, MA.
He was pre-deceased by his sisters Mary Delduca, Ruth Teutonico, Jean Elwell, Madeline Constantineau.
ARRANGEMENTS: In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Sacred Hearts Community Missions 77 Adams St. P.O. Box 111 Fairhaven, MA 02713 or to the St. Vincent de Paul Society at St. Monica’s Church, Methuen, MA. Family and friends may call on Thursday from 4:00p.m. – 8:00p.m. at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home 233 Lawrence Street Methuen, MA. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 11:00a.m. at St. Monica’s Church.
