Deborah Martinez, 34, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Sunday, April 25, 2010 at Dorminy Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, April 28 at Westside Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy Cargle and Rev. Roger Tucker officiating. Interment will follow in Mystic Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
Deborah was born April 21, 1976 in Tifton to Wendell Hall and Charlene York Powell. She lived in Fitzgerald all of her life, attended Fitzgerald High School and East Central Technical College. She was a member of Westside Baptist Church. Deborah was a loving wife, mother and daughter who lived life to the fullest. Her testimony was the way she lived her life, being a fighter and never giving up even after several years of battling cancer. Deborah is now resting comfortably in the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, who gave her strength to endure each day.
She is survived by her husband: Pedro Martinez of Fitzgerald; children: Pedro M. Martinez, Jr., Elijah J. Martinez, Silas J. Martinez and Seth L. Martinez, all of Fitzgerald; brother: Tommy Hall of Fitzgerald; sisters & brothers-in-law: Melissa & Joe Starnes, Deanna & Eric Clark and Nikki Hall all of Mystic; father & stepmother: Wendell & Renae Hall of Mystic; mother & stepfather: Charlene & Tony Powell of Fitzgerald; grandmother: Carolyn Hall of Tifton as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by grandparents, Hubert Hall and L.A. & Essie York.
