Obituary

WASHINGTON…Raymond Dean Allison, III, 56 or “Dean” as his friends and family called him, died at 2:20 p.m. Friday, April 2, 2010 at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria.

He was born on March 9, 1954 to Raymond D. and Rosamund L. Allison, Jr. in Peoria. Dean lived most of his life in Washington.

Dean graduated from Washington Community High School, Lincoln Junior College and Eastern Illinois University with a Bachelors degree in Communications. At Eastern he wrote a regular column for the University newspaper called the “The Dean of Sports.”

Dean was as fine a son as anyone would want. He never smoked, drank or touched drugs. He was kind to everyone.

He worked for Caterpillar and Hagerty Brothers in the Peoria area.

Dean is survived by his parents, of Washington; his brother, William L. Allison and his nephew, Andrew R. Allison.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday at Glendale Cemetery with Josh Lehman officiating. Cremation rites have been accorded. Mason-White Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
