Mary E. Lobo-Dorsey, 55, of New Bedford passed away on Wednesday March 25, 2010 at Massachusetts General Hospital after a long illness.
Born in New Bedford on November 15, 1954, she was the daughter of the late Laurencio and Dominga (Neves) Lobo.
Mary had been a leader in her community throughout her life, an advocate for social equality. She was the Director of E.E.O.C. for the City of New Bedford and Harford County, Maryland. She was also a proud social worker, educator, and U.S. Army veteran.
She is survived by two sons, thirteen siblings, and many nieces and nephews.
Her Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Monday at 9 AM at Our Lady of the Assumption Church. Visiting hours are omitted.
