Obituary

Vincent P. Donovan, 75, of Salem, New Hampshire, passed away peacefully at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington, MA. on Monday, December 14, 2009 with his loving family by his side after a stoic five year battle with cancer.

Mr. Donovan was born in Lawrence, the son of the late Andrew and Irene (Hoyt) Donovan and was educated in the Lawrence School System. He attended Lowell University and Merrimack College. Vincent enlisted in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict and was stationed at Ramstein Air Force Base, Germany with the 604th Communications Squadron.

Mr. Donovan worked at Avco/Textron Defense Systems for 32 years and retired as a Re-Entry Systems Production Control Manager.

He was a gentle man and model father, who passionately lived a Christ filled life.

He leaves his beloved wife of 52 years, Grace (McGowan) Donovan and their six children: Vincent and his wife Robin of Haverhill, MA., Christine Carter and her husband Fred of Salem, N.H., Paul and his wife
Pamela of Sandown, N.H., Jude and his wife Nancy of Salem, N.H., Joseph and his wife Stacey of Atkinson, N.H., and Mary Donovan of Salem, N.H.
He also leaves a sister: Marie Hurley of Lawrence and was predeceased by his infant brother Andrew. Vincent was tremendously blessed with 22 grandchildren; Heather, Taylor, Freddie, Doug, Joshua, Colleen, Shannon, Paul, David, Ryan, Michael, Jordan, Tyler, Jude, Francis, Andrew, Mary Grace, Anthony Vincent, Daniel, Nathan, Eli and Tanya. He also leaves five great-grandchildren; Alysia, Anthony, Madison, Jadelyn and Nyana.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, December 18, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. in St. Monica's Church, 212 Lawrence St., Methuen, MA. Entombment will follow at the Immaculate Conception Chapel Mausoleum in Lawrence, MA. Family and friends may call on Thursday, December 17, 2009 from 4 to 8 P.M. at the John Breen Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 122 Amesbury St., Lawrence, MA.
