I send my deepest condolences to the Coard family. Robert M. Coard in his teaching "show integrity, seriousness and soundness of speech that can not be condemned, so that those who oppose him may be ashamed because they have nothing bad to say about him (2Titus 2:7-8)." With Robert M. Coard deep convictions in doing what is good, all "these things are excellent and profitable for everyone (2Titus 3:8)." I am truely blessed that I am able to be part of his mission in helping and empowering people everyday. Sincerely, Laura Pitts ABCD/Mattapan Family Service Center Foreclosure Prevention Counselor

Mr. Robert M. Coard was a giant. A fierce fighter for those who needed a voice for equal rights to live in the community with freedom and quality. He spoke for so many who could not yet find their voice. We all know he was a leader in the anti-poverty world. I found out in the 1980s that was that he was also a natural mentor willing to give me the chance to spread my wings and follow his lead to help others use the tools to find their way out of poverty. Mr. Coard showed people in the depths of their despair that through education, job training, and hope that dreams and economic self-sufficiency CAN be reached. I pray that we keep his dreams and beliefs and the hard work of his full life alive. I feel so blessed to have worked with and for him. I will miss you deeply Mr. Coard. Rest in peace my friend. You are a real angel now. Sandra Copman

My prayers and thoughts are with you today as we celebrate the life of a great man. Twenty-seven years ago Bob Coard motivated and mentored me to a better life through higher education and community service. He taught me to never give up and to let each new step towards a better life be followed by another step to help someone else less fortunate. His memory will always live on in my heart. I worked with Mr. Coard in the early 60's through the eighty's. We had a great leader in Mr. Coard. The degree of committment and dedication to helping people was instilled in everyone who worked in ABCD. We worked through some very tough times, and we succeeded because Bob was a Master at knowing what buttons to push. It was a great experience, and I know I am going to miss a good friend. My family and I express our heartfelt condolences to Donna, and her family.
