Lawrence D. “Larry” Noone of Wareham formerly of Brockton lost his battle with cancer Thursday October 22, 2009 at the Tobey Hospital. He was 66 years old and the loving husband of Patricia A. (Britton) Noone. Larry was born, raised and educated in Brockton a son of the late T. Frank and Helen (Powers) Noone. He moved to Wareham 37 years ago shortly after his marriage. In 1986 Larry retired from the family business Frank Noone Shoe Company in Taunton.
A member of the Canal Sportsman Club, Larry enjoyed boating and salt water fishing and had mounted several trophy fish. He also enjoyed classic cars and treasured his 1957 Thunder Bird, loved music especially Elvis and was an avid Bruins fan. He looked forward to family gatherings at the Noone cottage at Swift’s Beach, spending time with his family, playing cards and board games. Larry was most proud of being eveyone’s favorite uncle.
Larry was the brother of Edward Noone and his wife Jean of Brockton; Robert Noone and his wife Barbara of Rockland; Walter Noone and his wife Jeanne of Brockton; Linda Noone of Newton and the late Richard, Kenneth and Thomas Noone and Marjorie Murphy. He also leaves 33 nieces and nephews and 66 great nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Tuesday at 8 am. Funeral Mass in Our Lady of Lourdes Church at 9 am. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visiting hours Monday 4-8 pm. Donations in Larry’s name may be made to the American Cancer Society 30 Speen Street Framingham, MA 01701.
