Rita M. (Fitzpatrick) Freije, 90, a resident of Lakeland FL., and formerly of Lawrence, MA., passed away on Sunday, April 12, 2009 in Lakeland.
Born in Lawrence, Rita was a graduate of both St. Augustine's Grammar School and St. Mary's High School in Lawrence. She then went on to graduate from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy, Class of 1959 in Boston, MA. Rita had worked as a Pharmacist at Riverside Pharmacy in Lawrence for many years. She was a member of the Rho Chi Pharmacy Honor Society, the MCP Alumni Association and St. Mary's High School Alumni Association.
The daughter of the late John J. and Rena (Voyer) Daley, members of Rita's family include:
her husband: Fred J. Freije
sons: Jack Fitzpatrick and his wife Mary Ann of Methuen, MA, and Nelson Fitzpatrick and his wife Theresa of both Windham, NH and Lakeland FL.
a daughter: Sheila Dregne and her husband Darrel of Coventry, R.I.
a stepdaughter: Kathleen Buckley and her husband Joseph of Center Barnstead, NH.
Rita is also survived by 10 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, a step grandson of Vermont, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother John Daley and her sister Rosemary Raymond.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, April 23, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. in St. Matthew's Church in Windham, NH. Burial will follow in the Cemetery on the Hill, also in Windham. Family and friends may call on Wednesday, April 22, 2009 from 3 to 7 P.M. at the John Breen Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 122 Amesbury St., Lawrence, MA.
