Mr. Virgil “Bubba” Paulk, 81, of Ocilla, Georgia, died Wednesday, February 11, 2009, at his residence.
Graveside services will be held 11:00 A.M., Thursday, February 12, 2009 in Micajah W. Paulk Cemetery, Irwin County with Rev. Clayton Dowd officiating.
Mr. Paulk was born April 30, 1927 in Irwin County to the late John Mack and Lula Gray Paulk. He was a farmer and lived in the Irwin community all of his life. Mr. Paulk served in the United States Merchant Marines during World War II. He was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his wife, Geraldine Paulk of Ocilla; daughters and sons-in-law, Vickie & Alfred Rodgers of Ocilla and Donna & Ted Nipper of Bradenton, FL; sons and daughters-in-law, Nelson & Faye Paulk and Mac & Laurie Paulk all of Ocilla; 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; brother: J.M. Paulk of Atlanta; sister, Bessie Harper of Ocilla and several nieces and nephews.
