Obituary

Richard Payton Henry, 79 of Medway died January 26 in the Medway Country Manor.
Born in Mineola, New York, December 24, 1929, the son of the late Joseph and Loretto (Hung) Henry, Mr. Henry was raised in New York and had lived in Medway since 1963.
Mr. Henry was a graduate of Mineola High School where he was on the track team and in the chorus.
Mr. Henry had worked for the Boston Edison Company as an investigator for 39 years before retiring in 1991.
Mr. Henry served in the Navy during the Korean War.
Mr. Henry was long active in Medway youth sports. He had coached in the Medway Youth Baseball program when his sons were younger and stayed involved throughout his life. He was often seen at games every spring. In 2008, he was the Grand Marshall of the Medway Youth Baseball Opening Day Parade.
Mr. Henry also enjoyed playing golf and watching all his grandchildren in whatever sports games or activities they were in.
He is survived by his children, Richard Henry and his wife, Deborah of Cambridge, Karen Seal and her husband, Lester of Medway, Joseph Henry and his wife, Melissa of Medway, and Mike Henry and his wife, Rhonda of Northbridge.
He is also survived by his grandchildren, Nicole, Joseph Jr. Andrew, Kristin and Emily Henry. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Rita Bogan and her husband Joseph of Bellingham.
Mr. Henry was the former husband of the late Maria (Molino) Fuller.
His funeral will be held on Friday, January 30 from the Ginley-Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber St. in Medway at 9:15 followed by a funeral Mass in St. Joseph Church at 10:00 a.m.
Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Medway with full military honors.
Calling hours will be on Thursday from 4-8 p.m.
