Lynch, Barbara (Smith) of Eastham formerly of Needham and Medfield died on Thursday January 15, 2009 at the Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis. Born in Newton Barbara in her earlier years grew up in Vermont and later moved to Auburndale where she graduated from Newton High School in 1953. Barbara married Jerome “Jerry” Lynch in 1958 and later moved to Medfield where they resided for 14 years. She came to Needham in 1970 and resided here until 1999. Barbara worked as a bank teller in Medfield and in Wellesley. While she was in Needham Barbara was a volunteer at the Needham Community Council for many years. Barbara and Jerry summered in Eastham for 35 years and moved there in 2001. Barbara leaves her husband Jerry of 50 years. She was the loving mother of Gregory C. and his wife Terri Lynch of Medfield, Gayle and her husband Nick Brown of Medfield and Gary and his wife Maura Lynch of Norfolk. Loving and devoted grandmother of Abigayle, Cooper, Tatum, Henry and Kelty. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Edward the Confessor Church, 133 Spring St. (Rt. 27) Medfield on Wed Jan. 21st at 10:00 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting hours at the Eaton Funeral Home 1351 Highland Ave Needham on Tuesday from 4-7 PM. Interment services will be private.
