Mrs. Rose C. Robitzsch, 89, of Fitzgerald passed away Friday, December 12, 2008 at Coliseum Northside Hospital in Macon.
Funeral services will be held 4 P.M., Sunday, December 14 at Pine Level United Methodist Church in Fitzgerald with Rev. Annette Brooks officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 Saturday evening at the funeral home.
Mrs. Robitzsch was born August 24, 1919 in Nashville, Georgia to the late Marcus E. and Eunice Lee Crawford. She lived in the community most of her life, graduating from Ocilla High School in 1937. In 2003 she moved to Macon and Warner Robins to be near her children. Mrs. Robitzsch was a homemaker and a former employee of the Hebrew Commercial Alliance, where she was the secretary and bookkeeper for Philip Halperin and was responsible for training office personnel. She worked with her husband who managed the Ben Hill Bonded Warehouse and helped him manage the family farm. She was a member of Pine Level United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School, and was a member of the Faith Sunday School Class, Pine Level United Methodist Women, and served as a communion steward.
Mrs. Robitzsch is survived by two sons and a daughter, Walter H. Robitzsch, III of Macon, Darrell C. Robitzsch of Fitzgerald and Rosemary R. Humphreys of Warner Robins; three grandchildren, Britton Robitzsch, Kirsten Humphreys and Kara Humphreys. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death her husband of 55 years, W.H. Robitzsch , Jr. and two sisters.
