Obituary

Laurie (Jacobs) Siebert, 47 of Franklin, passed away, Friday, November 7, 2008 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was the wife of Thomas Siebert for 16 years.

Born in Boston on February 9, 1961, she’s a daughter of Joseph Jacobs of Canton and the late Mary (DiMartino) Jacobs.

Laurie was a resident of Franklin since 1992. She grew up in Canton and graduated from Canton High School in 1979. She earned her Bachelors Degree in Marketing from Southeastern Massachusetts University in 1983.

Laurie was the president of Siebert & Co., Inc. of Franklin. She had previously worked in corporate sales at Hertz Corp. for many years.

Laurie was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Franklin where she was also a CCD teacher. After being a Girl Scout herself for many years, she volunteered in her daughter’s troop. She was a volunteer at the Keller Elementary School in Franklin and was active in the children’s banking program.

An avid swimmer, she was a member of both her high school and college swim teams. She enjoyed camping, snow and water skiing. Laurie was a founding member of G.N.O. for 18 years.

Besides her husband and father, she is survived by her children; Carly, Paul and Matt, all of Franklin, her step-daughter, Heather of Laconia, NH, her brother, Jay Jacobs and Lynda Allison of Mashpee and four sisters, Lynne Salvaggio and her husband, David of Weymouth, Diane Jacobs of Canton, MaryBeth Mrlack and her husband, Vince of Canton and Jaynne Adams and her husband, Jim of Hopkinton.

She was also the daughter-in-law of Roy Siebert, and sister-in-law of Bob Siebert, Cheri Wright & Teri Siebert, all of Hopkinton.

She was also survived by eleven nieces & nephews & many, many friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral from the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin, 131 Main St. on Tuesday, November 11 at 9 a.m. followed by her funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church in Franklin at 10 a.m.

Calling hours will be held on Monday from 3 - 8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Siebert Children’s Fund c/o Dean Bank, P.O. 307, Franklin, MA 02038.
