Melissa A. Souza-Martin, 37, of Westport passed away Thursday, November 6, 2008, unexpectedly at Charlton Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of Christopher R. Martin.
Born in Fall River, daughter of Charles M. and Sandra L. (Rodrigues) Souza of FL, she was a lifelong resident of Westport. She was a devoted wife, mother, daughter and friend. Mrs. Souza-Martin was a 1st grade teacher at Rochester Memorial Elementary School. She was a member of the Third Baptist Church in Fall River and the Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority of Teachers.
Including her parents and husband, survivors include 2 sons: Cody C.C. Martin and Cooper C.C. Martin both of Westport; 2 step-daughters: Ashley B. Wood of Fall River and Steffany L. Martin of FL; a sister: Stacey A. Souza of Westport; a step-grandson: Caleb Wood; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Wednesday, November 12, 2008 at the Potter Funeral Home at 10:00 A.M.
Calling hours Tuesday 5 - 8 P.M.
Interment in Oak Grove Cemetery, Fall River.
