Some special people move right into your heart from the moment you meet them. Bobby Conroy was one of those people. He moved in and danced. He had a way of knowing just what song was playing there and he jumped in without missing a beat. Bobby enjoyed an all too brief but well-lived life, rich with close-knit family and an extensive network of friends. His radiant light and spirit drew people to him. He was a loyal friend and forged bonds with many beautiful people who his family will always be proud to keep close.

Family was the foundation of Bobby Conroy’s life. Bobby loved his family infinitely and they him. Bobby loved playing football, skiing and golfing with his sons. He was a virtual Pied Piper among his sons’ friends who admired, respected and trusted Bobby Conroy as did his many nieces and nephews. He was a positive and strong influence in their lives. Family was the most precious treasure and greatest passion in Bobby’s life.

Bobby was born on August 3, 1959 and raised in Brighton, Massachusetts 1959 to Ann (Lundegren) Conroy and the late Thomas F. Conroy. His years at Boston College High School awakened his spiritual side and laid the foundation for the amazingly brilliant light he was for many who were blessed to share any time with him. Bobby was passionate about reading, especially history and spiritual literature. He was a life long student of the Bible, he read it often but more than that, he lived it. Probably more accurately, the Bible lived in Bobby. His generosity was legendary. Tales abound of his opening his car trunk on the streets of downtown Boston and giving away his suits to the street people with whom he had become familiar with on his way to work.

Bobby was a talented athlete, the celebrated quarterback of both his Boston College High School and Columbia University teams, but his greatest gift was his ability to love. He loved life and he loved everyone in his life. He had great faith and he shared his deep love for his faith and his heart with everyone. Bobby made you feel special whenever you spoke with him. He was blessed with the ability to make you feel comfortable sharing your joys, your tears and silent moments with him. He always listened with his heart and replied with a rare balance of compassion, encouragement and direction.

Bobby was a long-time standing member of The Boston Trader’s Association where he enjoyed a distinguished career as a sales trader in the financial industry. He began his profession with Woody Gundy in 1986. He went on to Alex Brown, a trading firm that was bought by Bankers Trust in 1997, which in turn was acquired by Deutsche Bank in 1999. He was truly respected and admired by his customers and competitors alike. Bobby retired from Deutsche Bank in Boston as its managing director in 2004.

Bobby will also be greatly missed by Sindi’s parents, Domenico and Cesidia Visco of Brighton, MA and Sindi’s brother, Bruno and his wife, Tullia Visco, Sindi’s brother Davide and his wife, Jen Visco all of Newton, MA and Sindi’s sister Rita and her husband, Rich Crowley of Canton, MA. The family enjoyed sharing the magic of Cape Cod beaches and skiing up north together.

Bobby’s bright light shines unwaveringly and eternally within the hearts of all who knew and loved him. His family and friends will continue to be inspired by his life, his love and his faith. He will always be our hero.
