Dear Teri, During our years at Cimaron and AMCC, Doug could always be relied upon to bring his dry, witty sense of humor to any situation. I will always remember him for telling things exactly as they were. I'll never forget after I struck out 4 times in a softball game one night, he told me "Well it could have been worse...you could have been up 5 times." He just always knew how to make light of a glum situation! God bless you and your family. My thoughts and prayers are with you. And Godspeed Doug, you will be sorely missed. Sincerely, Steve Augusta

My sympothy goes out to all of Doug's family. I want to appologize for not being able to attend the funeral. I will be there in prayer for you, as Doug was there as a freind for me. Our freindship has lasted for 27 years, and the memories of that freindship will continue for eternity.I was blessed to get to spend some time with Doug fishing in West Virginia last year. We shared many memories around the campfire, but the bulk of our conversation was about his family, and how much he loved everyone. His pride really showed when he passed around the pictures of him and the family on thier vacations. Doug was blessed with a wonderful family and that blessing will travel with him to heaven. May God bless everyone and be with you through this difficult time.

I am a friend of Justin. Even though I didn't know his father, I knew from the way Justin acted that he was a very nice and kind man. I am sorry for this loss and hope the rest of the Mayer's are ok. When I found out, I was shocked and was very sad and didn't know what to say or do. I hope Justin and his family get through this tough time. I wish I could help in any way. I also thank you Justin for helping me from class to class with my broken ankle.

Teri, our prayers and thoughts go out to you and your family. I spent a lot of time at church offering his name to the congregation for their prayers. Hopefully, he felt the love from those prayers. Not everyone understood his sense of humor, but having known him for over 20yrs, I got to understand him pretty well. I will think back and cherish all the times we shared together and times we got in trouble (more him than me). I can remember all the way back when I first started working at Sanders and Doug poking holes in my soda can in the lab. He will surely be missed. Celebrate his life. Teri, you know we are here for you if you need us.

Teri and family, I am very sorry to hear that Doug lost his battle. I worked with Doug at both Cimaron and AMCC, and also played softball with him in Andover. In all cases, he was a man who worked as hard as he could to overcome any difficulties he encountered, and I know he worked just as hard in his recent struggle. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you all at this difficult time.
