DRACUT - Brenda Joyce (Hoffman) D'Orto, 65, of Dracut, died Thursday September 25th in Lowell General Hospital. She was the beloved wife for 46 years of Sam D'Orto of Dracut.
Born in Lowell on February 20, 1943, she was a daughter of Doris (Daigle) Hoffman of Dracut and the late Howard Hoffman. She received her grammar school education in St. Michael's School and was a graduate of Notre Dame Academy class of 1960.
In her early years Mrs. D'Orto had been employed by the former Wang Laboratories in Lowell. More recently and until the time of her retirement she was employed as an administrative assistant by Enterprise Bank.
In her free time, Brenda enjoyed, gardening, reading sewing, traveling, and time spent in the company of her granddaughters.
In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by one daughter and son-in-law Kimberlly and Patrick Coppinger of Dracut; two sons Jondy D'Orto of Danvers and Jeffrey D'Orto of Dracut; two granddaughters Samantha and Jaclyn Coppinger; one sister and brother-in-law Sheila and Ray Bourgeois of Dracut; one sister-in-law Joyce Fountain or Haverhill; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, grand nieces and grand nephews.
Friends may call at DRACUT FUNERAL HOME 2159 Lakeview Avenue, DRACUT, Monday morning from 9 until 11 AM. Her Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM in the funeral home. Cremation to follow.
