Obituary

Whitman-Harry E. Sherman 84 died Wednesday August 27th after a lengthy illness. He was the beloved husband of Mary D. (Cercello) Sherman.

Born and raised in Whitman he was the son of the late Henry F. and Anna E. (Schuler) Sherman.

Harry was a veteran of World War II serving over seas in England, Scotland, France, and Germany while in the US Army Air Corp from 1943 to 1947.

He worked as a self employed carpenter, and was a member of the VFW, and the Satucket Rifle & Revolver Club.

He loved hunting, fishing and gardening. He was an avid golfer who enjoyed golfing all year long.

In addition to his wife he is survived by his son Mark E. Sherman of Whitman, his daughter Diana M. Sullivan of Virginia, and his sister-in-law Laura Sherman of Whitman. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Henry J. Sherman and Ethel Picavet.

His services will be held Saturday August 30th at 2 PM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel Plymouth Street (Rt. 58 at the rotary) Whitman. Burial will follow in the High Street Cemetery, Whitman. Visiting hours will be held Friday August 29th from 6-8 PM.
