TAUNTON – Aurora (Barber) Pinto, wife of the late Joseph Pinto, died on Wednesday, Aug. 20th at Longmeadow of Taunton Nursing Home at the age of 95.
Born in Taunton, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Charlotte (Perry) Barber.
Educated in Taunton schools, she was later employed by General Electric and subsequently, Hercules Manufacturing for over 34 years, retiring in 1977.
She also owned and operated Judy’s Beauty Salon.
She leaves a son, Richard R. Pinto of N. Kingstown, RI; 2 daughters, Charlotte Slivinski of Taunton and Audrey Bergen of Raynham; a brother, Edward Barber of Elon - College, NC; 2 sisters, Javina Andrade and Nora Frank, both of Taunton, 11 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also the mother of the late George Pinto and Joseph Pinto Jr. and the sister of the late Joseph Barber, Frank Barber, and Mary Brink.
Her funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway on Monday, Aug. 25th at 8 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Mary’s Church at 9 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling Hours will be Sunday, 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
