Betty K. Taylor, 62, of Fitzgerald, Georgia died Wednesday, August 20, 2008 at her residence.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 A.M. Saturday, August 23 at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald with Rev. Charlie Wilson, Rev. Barry Gordon and Monsignor Lawrence Lucree officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 Friday evening at the funeral home.
Mrs. Taylor was born, July 22, 1946 in Tift County to the late Benny and Julia Evers King. She lived in Ben Hill County and Irwin County most of her life, graduating from Irwin County High School in 1964. Mrs. Taylor was a former employee of the National Bank of Fitzgerald and C & S Bank in Fitzgerald. She and her husband were former owner/operators of Taylors Convenience Store. She enjoyed listening to music, reading and cross-stitching, which she gave to her family and friends. She had a deep faith in God and was a member of Crossview Baptist Church.
Mrs. Taylor is survived by her husband of 34 years, Curtis Taylor of Fitzgerald; children, Selena (Derrick) Sharpe of Duluth and Tonya Hancock of Fitzgerald; grandchildren, Charlie Elizabeth and Jackson Taylor Sharpe, Michael and AJ Hancock and Kylan Ray; sister, Minnie K. Hampton of Tifton; niece, Amy Hampton of Brentwood, TN; nephew, Adam Hampton of Brunswick; caregivers Sharon Rice and Angela Leyse; special papa, Jess Watkins and special friends, Charles Clark and James McMillan. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a twin brother.
