Arthur M. St. Laurent, 69, of Tiverton passed away Monday, August 11, 2008 at home with his family by his side. He was the husband of the late Patricia A. (Brodeur) St. Laurent.
Born in Fall River, he was son of the late Arthur J. and Florence (Gagnon) St. Laurent. A veteran of the Vietnam War, he served his country in the United States Army. Arthur served on the Tiverton Fire Department for 45 years, working 17 years as a volunteer and 28 years as a permanent firefighter before retiring in 2000. He was a Communicant of St. Theresa’s Church, Tiverton and was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #4753 of Tiverton. Mr. St. Laurent was an avid hunter and fisherman his entire life.
Survivors include 3 children: Joseph Mello, Cheryl Mello and her husband Paul and James Mello and his wife Corrieann, all of Tiverton; 6 grandchildren; 4 sisters: Jeanne Jennings and her husband Richard of ME, Helene Giguere and her husband George of Little Compton, Diane Sanford and her husband Bryan of Tiverton and Cynthia Goulart and her husband Dennis of Mattapoisett; a brother: Robert St. Laurent and his wife Claudette of Tiverton; and several nieces and nephews.
He was godfather of the late Jeffrey S. Giguere.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Thursday, August 14, 2008 from the Potter Funeral Home at 9:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Theresa’s Church, Tiverton at 10:00 A.M.
Calling hours Wednesday 5 - 8 P.M.
Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River.
