Mamie Harper, 72, of Ocilla died Monday, July 14, 2008, at Dorminy Medical Center in Fitzgerald.
Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M., Wednesday, July 16, 2008 at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel, Ocilla with the Rev. David Biggers officiating. Interment will follow in the Lax Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 Tuesday evening at the funeral home in Ocilla.
Mrs. Harper was born September 27, 1935 in Coffee County, Georgia to the late Rastus and Nellie Conner Pate. She was an inspector for Irwin Manufacturing and formerly worked for the Burlen Corporation. She lived in Irwin County most of her life and was a member of the Lax Holiness Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband: Charles Harper of Ocilla; one daughter: Cheryl Alvarez of Fitzgerald; one grandson: Keith Melton; one great-grandson: Kourtland Melton; two great-granddaughters: Khristian Melton and Erica Melton; one brother: Curtis Pate of Douglas, and three sisters: Lucile Smith of Fitzgerald, Helen Ansley of Thompson, and Ruth Vines of Waycross. She was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers.
