Ruby Pridgen Deen, 81, of Fitzgerald, died Saturday, June 14 at Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton.
Funeral services will be held 11 A.M., Monday, June 16 at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Lloyd Stembridge officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 Sunday evening at the funeral home.
Mrs. Deen was born July 10, 1926 in Coffee County, Georgia to the late Lonnie and Bertie Fussell Pridgen. She attended the Pridgen School in Pridgen, Georgia. She had lived in the community since 1946. She was a former employee of The Monarch Company and a former supervisor for Irwin Manufacturing. She was a member of Arbor Baptist Church.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law: Betty D. & Ed Roberts of Tifton and Bonnie & Cecil Pinkerton of Watkinsville; five grandchildren and their spouses: David & Katie Roberts, Michael Bryan & Julia Roberts, Deena & Lance Sumner, Lindsey Pinkerton, and Haley Pinkerton; five great-grandchildren: Rebecca Roberts, Jacob Roberts, Philip Roberts, Charles Roberts, and Abigail Roberts; one sister: Lola Mae Young of Fitzgerald; as well as two brothers and sisters-in-law: C.C. “Junior” & Opal Pridgen of Wray and Wayne & Sharon Pridgen of Tifton. Mrs. Deen was preceded in death by her husband: Aubrey A. Deen and two brothers: Walter Pridgen and R.L. Pridgen.
