Francis J. “Franny” Hunchard, 77, of Franklin, died, Monday, June 2, 2008, at Caritas Norwood Hospital. He was the husband of Karen B. (MacKinnon) Hunchard.
Born in Franklin on June 30, 1930, Fran was a son of the late Joseph A. and Mary (Chestercove) Hunchard. He was a lifelong resident of Franklin and graduated from Franklin High School in 1948. He was a Korean War Veteran serving in the U.S. Coast Guard for almost 7 years.
Before his retirement, he was employed in the Franklin Public Schools by the Town of Franklin for over 20 years and was a volunteer fireman for the Franklin Fire Department for 26 years.
Fran was a lifetime member of the Franklin Rod & Gun Club.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his daughters, Winona Seibert of Franklin, Kimberly Earley of Virginia, Shannon Reynolds of Franklin and Tara Talamini of Bristol, NH and two brothers, Edward and Paul Hunchard both of Franklin.
He is also survived by several grandchildren and a niece and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his memorial service on Friday, June 6 at 11 a.m. in the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin, 131 Main St. in Franklin.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 4 - 7 p.m.
