Obituary

FAIRHAVEN - Patricia A. (Cadima) Walsh, 64, of Westport, died peacefully at her summer home on West Island after a lengthy illness on June 1, 2008. She was the wife of the late William T. Walsh, who died in January.

Born in Fall River on Sept. 3, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Cadime and Mary Florence (John) Cadime. She was raised in Westport and was a 1961 graduate of Westport High School. She graduated from Kinyon-Campbell Business School and worked as a secretary until the birth of her children. She later worked at her family’s business, Cadime’s General Store for many years.

Mrs. Walsh was a communicant of Our Lady of Grace Church where she had been active in church and social life. She taught CCD and sang in the choir and enjoyed co-producing the church’s annual variety show. She was also a member of the Women’s Guild. She volunteered as a Ladies Auxiliary member for Little League baseball and also served as troop leader for the Camp Fire Girls.

Mrs. Walsh worked as a Consumer Service Engineer for Eastern Edison Company until her retirement, after which she volunteered as a Literacy tutor for Bristol Community College, where she was honored as Volunteer of the Year in 2005. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society.

Mrs. Walsh enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren Leslie, Marguerite, Jillian and Jordan. She was an accomplished seamstress and gardener and spent many hours quietly enjoying these pastimes at home and at her summer cottage on West Island. She was a devoted mother, aunt and cousin to all her family.

Survivprs include a son: Randall R. Tavares, of Mansfield; 2 daughters: Patricia A. (Tavares) Pronovost of Cotuit and Kerry E. Walsh of Fall River: a brother Roderick Cadime of Westport; and her grandchildren Leslie, Marguerite, Jillian and Jordan.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend:

Funeral from the POTTER FUNERAL HOME, 81 Reed Road, Westport at 9:00 A.M., Wednesday, June 4, 2008 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Grace Church, Westport at 10:00 A.M.

Visiting hours Tuesday, June 3, 2008, 5:00-8:00 P.M.

Interment in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport.
