Obituary

Charles J. Alexion, 87, of Manchester, died May 22, 2008 at the Catholic Medical Center after a period of declining health.
He was born May 13, 1921, in Lawrence, MA, the son of John C. and Coula (Tseggounis) Alexion. He graduated from Lawrence High School in 1939.
He had worked many jobs ranging from taxi driver to cook to restaurant manager for a family-run diner in New Jersey. He later worked for Bonanza Restaurant in Manchester.
Charles also had mastered a career in welding working at various Navy Shipyards in Philadelphia, Charlestown, MA, and Portland, ME.
He attended classes for technical writing and consulted for AVCD, RCA, and IBM. He later took a career position with Raytheon Service Company in Andover and Burlington, MA, before retiring in 1986. He was a member of the Lawrence Elks, Lodge 65 B.P.O.E.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 19 years Mary T. (Madden) Alexion in 1982. He leaves a son, John C. Alexion of Manchester, NH; one sister, Sophia Costa and her husband Eddie Costa of Lawrence, MA; two sister-in-laws, Helen Madden and Doris Madden, both of Manchester; a niece, Cathleen Regan and her husband Patrick Regan of Manchester; a niece, Lynne Diane Costa of Lawrence, MA; many close friends.
The funeral Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Wednesday May 28, 2008 in Blessed Sacrament Church, 14 Elm St, Manchester. Burial followed in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bedford.
