Ardelle F. (Blanchard) Smart 80 passed away Tuesday May 13th at her home surrounded by her family after a lengthy illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Charles W. Smart, Jr.
Born in Brockton she was the daughter of the late Ashley and Esther (Spooner) Blanchard. She was a lifelong resident of Whitman and a graduate of Whitman High in 1945.
Ardelle retired from Smith Buckley Hunt Insurance of Brockton after 33 years of service.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially her 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren with whom she cherished. Ardelle was blessed with many loving friends.
Ardelle was the longtime companion of the late John F. Bottini of Brockton and a dear friend to his family.
She is survived by her three loving daughters and their husbands, Janet and Ronald Staples and Diane and James Mills all of Whitman and Debra and Jay Tingzon of Chatsworth, CA., her brother Vernon Blanchard of Hyannis, her many special sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, and devoted nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Beverly Cook of Latham, NY.
Her services will be officiated by her nephew and will be held Saturday May 17th at 2 PM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel Plymouth Street (Rt. 58 at the rotary) Whitman. Burial will follow in the Colebrook Cemetery, Whitman. Visiting hours will be held Friday May 16th from 4-8 PM.
