Bailie (Poretsky) Weiss of Malden, MA died on April 27th at home. She was 69 years old.
Bailie was the beloved wife of Marshall Weiss. She was born in Chelsea and spent the last 52 years of her life in Malden with her loving husband and family. She was educated in the Chelsea school district and high school before moving to Malden. She was proud to service as the Parent Coordinator for the Malden Public Schools Title #1 Remedial Reading and Math for 45 years. Bailie was also a very active community member who was a member of the Malden Democratic Committee, the Red Hat Society of Malden, and SPIN – Support Parent Involvement Now.
Bailie was the devoted mother of Adrianne Weiss of Malden, Stanley Weiss and his wife Lorna of Georgia, and Jay Weiss and his wife Nancy of Lynnfield. She is the dear sister of Sheldon Poretsky of Nevada and Elaine Solomon of Texas. Bailie was the loving grandmother of Stephen, Emma, Alexandra, and Matthew.
Graveside services at the Chelsea Chevra Kadisha Cemetery, Fuller Street, Everett on Wednesday, April 30th at 11:00 AM. Rabbi Robert Goldstein will officiate. Memorial observance at her late residence through Thursday evening, May 1st.
