Ethel M. (Rotondo) Lavey of Dedham, formerly of Allston, passed away on February 29, 2008 at the Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston. She was 69 years old. She was the beloved daughter of the late Dominic L. and Marion S. (Davis) Rotondo.
Born in Boston, she was a longtime Dedham resident. She had previously lived in Allston for several years.
She was the devoted mother of Mary Rotondo of Dedham, Renee Rotondo of North Carolina, John Rotondo of Plymouth, Audrey Lavey of Dedham, Melina Shapiro of Dedham and James Shapiro Jr. of Miami, FL. Also survived by 8 grandchildren. Sister of Gail Senier of Easton, Claire Johnson of Washington, George Rotondo of New Hampshire, Sheila Dailey of Norwood, Loretta Cassidy of Hyde Park, Irene Rotondo of South Boston and the late Patricia Bonafine, Pauline Livingston, Adrienne Lee and Marie Rotondo.
Funeral from the George F. Doherty & Sons Wilson-Cannon Funeral Home, 456 High St., Dedham, Tuesday at 8 AM. Funeral mass in St. Mary’s Church, Dedham, at 9 AM. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Visiting hours Monday 4-8 PM. Interment private.
