In Taunton, February 28, 2008 Delta A. (Araujo) died in Morton Hospital after a brief illness at the age of 85. Delta was the wife of Joseph Silvia for 66 years. She was the daughter of the late Gregory Conceicao (Melin) Araujo. Delta was born in Taunton and has lived her entire life there. For most of her life residing on Bay St. She was employed as a home health aid for Southeastern MA. Visiting Nurses Association until her retirement in 1993. Delta belonged to the Taunton Council of Aging, she loved her family and enjoyed playing bingo. Besides her husband Delta leaves her children Joseph Jr. of Buzzards Bay and Shirley Ellis and her husband Kevin of Raynham. Her Grandchildren Kelly Hewitt of Hyannis, Jodi Lynn Mauer of East Longmeadow, MA. and her great Grandchildren Keana Hewitt, Henry Hewitt, Madison, Grant, Jackson and Tyler Mauer. Her siblings Lee Byan of Carlisle, PA. Gloria Leal of E. Taunton and the late Lillian Carvalho, John & Gregory Araujo. Funeral from the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St. in Taunton on Monday, March 3rd at 8am. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Anthony's Church in Taunton at 9am. Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours on Sun. from 2-5pm. Interment in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Taunton.
