Mary L. “Marie” Laverdure, 63, passed away at the Sawtelle Family Hospice House in Reading on February 12th, 2008. She was born in Everett on August 14th, 1944 to her parents Anthony and Adeline (Saldutti) Barbaro. Marie is a graduate of Cheverus Grammar School and Cheverus High School in Malden. For many years she worked as a Transportation Manager at TriCap in Malden and was also a former secretary of the Religious Education Program at Immaculate Conception Parish in Malden. Over the years, Marie was involved in many theatre productions. She was a member of the West End Community Theatre Club and for the past several years had been a lead character in “Joey and Maria’s Wedding”, a play performed at local theatres and clubs. Marie also volunteered her time as a vocalist at Immaculate Conception Church in Malden for several years. She has been a resident of Malden for over 35 years. Marie is survived by her husband, Francis “Frank” Laverdure of Malden; her children Jean-Marc Laverdure and his wife Julie of Wakefield, Gregory Laverdure of Malden and Anthony Laverdure and his wife Stephanie of Bradford; her grandchildren Ava, Bella and Zachary; her sister Angie Grout of Malden and her sister-in-law Claire McGrath of Dorchester. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral services from the A.J. Breslin & Son Funeral Home, 610 Pleasant St., Malden at Medford line on Friday February 15th at 8 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant St., Malden at 9 AM. Relatives & friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 3-8 PM.
