Dartmouth - Carol E. (Chase) Rego, 54, of Dartmouth, passed away Saturday, January 12, 2008 at home after a lengthy illness. She was the wife of Stephen A. Rego.
Born in Acushnet, daughter of the late Phillip T. and Eunice M. (Sanford) Chase, she had lived in Westport prior to moving to Dartmouth 6 years ago. She was a graduate of Westport High School. Prior to retirement in 2005, she was a postal clerk for the U.S. Postal Service working from the Fairhaven branch. Mrs. Rego enjoyed traveling, camping, going for walks, but most of all loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Including her husband, she is survived by 2 sons: Lee A. Richard of Fall River and Eric R. Richard of Westport; a daughter: Kristine C. Silva of Swansea; 2 step-daughters: Stephanie A. Rego of Dartmouth and Kerri-Lyn Rego of Dartmouth; former husband: Arthur Richard of Westport; 2 brothers: Carlton Chase of Woonsocket, RI and George Chase of Westport; 5 grandchildren: Alexis, Amber, Ashley and Austin Silva and Nathan Richard; an uncle: Carlton E. Sanford of Riverside, RI; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was sister of the late David and Charlie Chase.
