Obituary

Gertrude “Trudy” (Talcott) Impey, 80 of South Daytona, Florida and formerly of Franklin and Attleboro died January 2 in the University of Massachusetts Medical Center in Worcester. She was the wife of the late Roy J. Impey Jr. who died in 2003.
Born in Cambridge, November 4, 1927 the daughter of the late Frank A. and Marion (Russell) Talcott, Mrs. Impey was raised in West Medford and had lived in Franklin for many years before moving to Attleboro where she lived until moving to Florida 14 years ago.
She was a graduate of Fisher Junior College.
Mrs. Impey had worked as an account supervisor at Caritas Southwood Hospital for 15 years before retiring.
In Florida, she had worked in the Admissions Office of Halifax Medical Center in Port Orange, Florida.
Mrs. Impey was a communicant of The Church of the Epiphany in Port Orange.
In 2006, she was crowned Queen of TOPS. She loved to play BINGO, to paint with watercolors and to go camping with her family. When in Massachusetts, she loved to go to Horse Neck Beach and was an ardent Fan of the New England Patriots.
She is survived by her son, Thomas W. Impey of North Attleboro and her daughters, Patricia A. Impey of Franklin and Donna M. Turtungian of Franklin.
She was the mother of the late Roy J. Impey III, Michael Impey, Stephen T. Impey and Irene H. Dailey.
She is also survived by her sister, Evelyn M. Spencer of Marlboro, 15 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Her funeral will be held on Saturday, January 5 from the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) 131 Main St., Franklin at 8:15 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church in Franklin at 9:00.
Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Wayland.
Calling hours will be on Friday from 5-8 p.m.
