Obituary

In Raynham, December 20, 2007 William G. age 82 died peacefully at home after a lengthy illness, surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his loving wife Ethel (Eames) Cote and cherished daughters Cheryl (Cote) Rodrique and her husband Normand of South Walpole and Donna Cote of Norton. He also leaves five Grandchildren: Jennifer E. Rodrique of Washington, D.C., Jason E. Rodrique of South Walpole, Justin E. Rodrique of Florida, Adam Poirier of Plymouth, Noel Muller of Quincy and one great grandson Dylan J. Rodrique of South Walpole. William was the son of late Alice (Bennett) Cote and Rosario Cote of Raynham. He was the treasured brother Eileen Smith of Canton, Dorathea Cote of Raynham and the late Pearl Curran. William was a member of St. Ann’s Church in Raynham. William attended Raynham Schools and graduated from Taunton High School in 1943 where he four year was a cadet corp member. He was a WWII veteran, having served in the Army Air Corp. He retired as chief engineer at the Taunton State Hospital after a 38 year career. He was a past member of the South Shore Hospital Engineers Association, N.E. Hospital Engineers Association, Secretary and treasurer of the Institutional Chief Power Plant Engineers Association of MA. He also belonged to the MA. State Employees Retirement Association. He served proudly for 15 years as a special police officer for the town of Raynham and was a life member and past president of the Raynham Police Association. He was a member of the American Legion Post 405 fo Raynham, Taunton & Raynham Rifle & Pistol Club, National Rifle Association, Winthrop St. Baptist Church Couples Club and the Old Colony Historical Society. In his free time he enjoyed woodworking, fishing and spending time with his family at his summer house on Cape Cod. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to Hospice Care of greater Taunton and the private homecare givers from “Arlene’s Girls. Funeral from the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St. in Taunton on Monday, December 24th at 9am. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Ann;s Church in Raynham at 10am. Relatives and Friends are invited to visiting hours on Sunday from 5-8pm. Interment Pleasant Street Cemetery in Raynham. Donation in lieu of flowers may be made in William’s memory to the International Mesothelioma Program C/O Dr, David Sugarbaker, Brigham & Womens Hospital, 75 Francis St. Boston, MA. 02115.
