Ethel J. (Walsh) Durning, 96 of Walpole died December 4 in the Serenity Hill Nursing Home in Wrentham.
Born in Boston, March 13, 1911 the daughter of the late Edward and Ethel (Kimball) Walsh, Mrs. Durning had lived in Walpole for most of her life.
Mrs. Durning had been a housekeeper at the former Pondville Hospital in Norfolk for several years.
She is survived by her son, Robert Durning of Corona, California and her daughters, Mary Thompson of Mendon and Beatrice Hurd of Walpole.
She was the mother of the late Edward and James Durning.
She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Her funeral service will be held on Friday, December 7 in the Ginley Funeral Home 892 Main St., Walpole at 10:00 a.m.
Burial will be in Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton.
Visiting hours will be on Thursday from 4-7 p.m.
