Jacqueline “Jackie” Lampert 66, of Salem, NH passed away on Saturday, November 24, 2007, after a courageous battle with breast cancer.
Born February 4, 1941, Jackie was one of six children of the late Gene and Gladys (Farrell) Derouin, of Lynn Massachusetts. She has resided with her family in Salem, NH since 1977. Jackie was a graduate of Lesley College where she earned her Master’s Degree in Education. Prior to her retirement, she taught at Derry Village School, in Derry NH for 24 years. After retirement, she remained active in the Derry School system as a volunteer. In 1994, Jackie was honored by the Derry Education Association as Teacher of the Year, and in 2006 received the Friend of Education Volunteer Award.
She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, family, and friends. She had a passion for the arts theatre, traveling, and science. Jackie loved spending time at the ocean and entertaining friends and family at her lake house cottage.
Jackie is survived by her husband of 46 years William G. Lampert, her son William C. Lampert and wife Toni of Derry, NH, daughter Cheryl Lampert and life partner Mary Ellen Ormond of Chester, NH, and son Jeffrey Lampert of Salem, NH.
She is also survived by her brothers Leonard Derouin and wife Shirley of Lynn, Ma and Michael Derouin and wife Diane of Peabody, Ma, her grandchildren Shannon, Courtney, Robert, Riley, Taryn, Sean, and Crystal, several much-loved nieces and nephews, and all the students whose lives she enriched.
Calling hours will be held Tuesday, Nov. 27 from 4-8 PM at the Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St, Salem, NH.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Nov. 28 at 10 AM at the funeral home. Cremation will follow.
