Wendolyn "Wendy" Champion Hood Obituary - Water Valley MS

Wendolyn “Wendy” Dawn Champion Hood, age 40, died Saturday, October 4, 2014 at University Medical Center in Jackson, MS. She was born August 19, 1974 in Clarksdale, MS to Terry Eugene and Connie Jo Edwards Champion. Wendy formerly worked in the banking industry. She loved the Lord and her church family at Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Madison, MS where she was an active and faithful member. She was a former member of Oakhurst Baptist Church in Clarksdale, MS. Wendy was a talented vocalist and enjoyed contemporary Christian music. She dearly loved her children, Taylor and Hannah, and cherished time spent with her family and friends.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 7, 2014 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley, MS. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, October 8, 2014 in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks with Dr. Randy Bain officiating. Burial will be in the Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery in Charleston, MS with Jacob Edwards, Brandon Champion, Danny Wayne Edwards, John Clyde Champion, Tony Champion, Joe McNeer, Zane Alford and Ross Cardwell serving as pallbearers.

Wendy is survived by her son, Taylor Gregory Hood of Hattiesburg, MS; her daughter, Hannah Elizabeth Hood of Ridgeland, MS; her parents, Terry and Connie Edwards Champion of Water Valley, MS; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her half-brother, Gregory Champion.
