New Bedford – Roger E. Swire, age 68 years, died, December 5, 2010, at home. He was the beloved husband of the late Mary Lou (Camire) Swire. He is survived by his brothers Thomas Swire of Fairhaven, Don Swire of East Falmouth, Bruce Swire and Russell Swire both of New Bedford and Brian Swire of Fairhaven and he was the brother of the late Wayne Swire and Isabel Rawcliffe. Roger was the father of Roger Swire Jr. of Fall River, and step-father of Debra Isherwood and Theresa Wood both of Fall River, He is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Roger was the companion of Mary “Angie” Nelson and her family.
Roger was the son of the late Alice (Silveira) and Alvin Swire. He was born in Acushnet, MA. Mr. Swire worked as an oven operator at Acushnet Company.
Mr. Swire’s Visiting hours will be Wednesday from 5-8 P.M. Services will take place at 7 P.M. with Pastor Manuel Andrews Officiating. Relatives and friends are invited. Arrangements are by the Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St.
