WORCESTER-
Jeffrey E. Barnard, 61, of Worcester, died at home Sunday, November 28th, with his wife by his side, after a battle with melanoma. He leaves his wife of 20 years, Kathleen A. (Robichaud) Barnard; a daughter, Jennifer J. Moberg of Charlton; a stepson, Sean D. Ausmus of Worcester; two granddaughters, Julia and Jordan; his mother, Barbara McLellan of Grafton; a brother, Jon Barnard of Grafton; two sisters, Joanne List and her husband, Mark, of Fort Myers Beach, FL; Jane St. Denis and her husband, Bob, of Millbury; his mother-in-law, Anne Richard of West Boylston; his sister-in-law, Mary Ellen Wessell and her husband, James, of Leicester; and six nieces.
Mr. Barnard was born in Worcester, the son of Robert Barnard. He was a popular blogger in Worcester, authoring "Wormtown Taxi". He was the recipient of Worcester Magazine's "Blogger of the Year" award for 2010, and was recently honored with the key to the City of Worcester for his blogging accomplishments.
Music was a big part of Jeff's life- he was a talented guitarist and songwriter. He was a member of the Central Massachusetts Amateur Radio Association for many years.
The family thanks Gary Tanguay, M.D., and the UMASS-Memorial Home Hospice, especially Lynn McCrann, R.N., for all their care and concern for Jeff.
Per Jeff's wishes, there will be no calling hours or funeral services.
O'CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, is directing arrangements.
There will be a gathering of family and friends at The Grafton Inn, 25 Central Square, Grafton, MA on Thursday, December 2, 2010, from 5:00 untol 9:00 PM - all are welcome to attend.
