Millbury - Barbara E. (Aijala) Cobat, 66, of St Francis Nursing Home, Worcester, passed away Monday, May 12, 2010. She was a loving mother and grandmother who is remembered for her fun, caring spirit and happiness she brought to so many. Preceded in death by her parents Arne and Helen Aijala of Shrewsbury. Survived by her sons Brian (Jennifer) and Scott Cobat; brother Victor (Judy) Aijala; grandchildren Jillian, Nicole, Kaitlyn, Karlee and Brennan; nephew Karl (Maryann) Aijala of Berlin, MA; and niece Sara of Arnold, MD.; lifelong and cherished friend, Kathy Green of Shrewsbury, MA.
Services entrusted to Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street, Worcester MA 01605. Visitation at the funeral home will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Thursday, May 20. Church Services will be Friday May 21, at 10:30 AM at Mount Olivet Lutheran Church, 34 Prospect Street, Shrewsbury, MA 01545 with Pastor Schulhaus officiating. Final resting place will be at the Glennwood Cemetery, Maynard, Massachusetts.
