Obituary

MILLBURY-John T. MacDonald, 61, of Millbury, died Wednesday, January 27th in St. Vincent Hospital. He was born in Brighton and grew up in Marlborough; and had served for several years in the Massachusetts Army National Guard.
John had worked for 20 years at Ellis Imports, in Southborough. It was during this time John developed many great friendships and long time customer relationships. His passion was racing, and had participated with Chuck Ellis in the seventies, campaigning an Alfa Romeo Alfetta; winning a NARRC championship during this time. Autocrossing was his true love, winning a Sports Car Club of America National Autocross Championship in 1975 driving a Brabham BT29 in the A Modified Class. John continued with his autocrossing and during this time had won an impressive number of local, regional and divisional championships. He will be remembered as a fierce competitor, a knowledgeable mentor, coach and friend. His friends and fellow members of SCCA, BMW CCA and the Porsche Club will miss him and his intensity as the new autocross season unfolds.
Friends are invited to a Celebration of John’s Life, which will be held on Saturday, February 20th from 1:00 until 4:00 PM at the Worcester Lodge of Elks, 233 Mill Street, Worcester.
