Miss Virginia G. Rogers, 93 of Medford died Tuesday in the Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Medford. Miss Rogers was born and educated in Somerville, daughter of the late Manuel and Virginia (Medeiros) Rogers. She began a career in banking as a bookkeeper with the Somerville National Bank which later became the Shawmut Bank retiring in 1981. She has been a Medford Resident since 1953. Miss Rogers enjoyed watching game shows, playing the lottery, shopping, traveling and playing Bingo at St. Joseph Church Hall. In the “old days” she was part of the old porch crowd, a time when the neighbors would walk to each other’s home to swap newspapers.
