Obituary

Marcia A. (Fielding) (Pelletier) Bates, 53, of Derry died July 9, 2008 at her residence after an extended illness.
Born in Beverly, MA on September 25, 1954, she was the daughter of Joseph and Eileen (Bradley) Fielding. She lived in Winthrop, MA, Salem, MA and Manchester many years before moving to Derry in 1994.
She studied culinary arts at New Hampshire College. She also worked as a substitute art teacher at several area schools.
Mrs. Bates was an avid sailor and enjoyed cooking and time spent with her grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her first husband, Eddie Pelletier who died in 1980.
The family includes her husband, Geoffrey J. Bates of Londonderry; two children, T.J. Pelletier and Dannielle M. Garcia both of Derry; her father of Manchester; two brothers, Mark J. Fielding of Florida and Brian J. Fielding of Rhode Island; two sisters, Paula M. Moore and Barbara E. Fielding both of Manchester; aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
IN HER LIFE: The family also includes three grandchildren, Beverley G. Garcia, Jasminn A. Garcia and Thomas Pelletier all of Derry. She was predeceased by a sister, Joanne L. Dennison, and by her mother.
SERVICES: A memorial mass of Christian burial was celebrated Saturday, July 12, 2008 at St. Pius X Church, 575 Candia Rd., Manchester. Memorial donations may be made to the Currier Museum Arts Center, 150 Ash St., Manchester, NH 03104, Attn: Arts Center Scholarship.
