Obituary

Carver-Natalie C. (Fontaine) Gilder, 77, died Saturday June 14th after a period of failing health. She was the loving wife of Joseph D. Gilder.

Born and raised in Whitman she was the daughter of the late Amos and Gladys (Tripp) Fontaine. She was a graduate of Whitman High in 1948, and a life long resident of Whitman before her move to Carver in 1993 where she resided for that last 15 years.

She was an active member of the Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Carver.

Natalie enjoyed gardening and cooking and was a collector of Teddy Bears and Angels.

She loved her home and was happiest when she was caring for her husband, children, and grandchildren.

In addition to her husband she is survived by her children, Van Gilder and his wife Lynne of Tifton, GA, Noël Benoit and her husband Norman of Plymouth, and Anne Willis of Winston-Salem, NC, her grandchildren Aaron, Kristin, Johanna, Jacob, Andrea, Jeremiah, Dorienne and Emily as well as several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Lasalle, Wayne, and Pat Fontaine and Norma Corliss.

Her services will be held Friday, June 20th at 9:00 AM in the Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Main Street, Carver. No Procession from the chapel. Burial will be at a later date. Please note that there will NOT be a procession from the funeral home to the church on Friday morning. Visiting hours will be held in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel Plymouth Street (Rt. 58 at the rotary) Whitman on Thursday June 19th from 4-8 PM. Donations may be made in her name to Our Lady of Lourdes Church Building Fund, 130 Main Street Carver, MA 02330.
