TEWKSBURY - Robert L. "Bob" Parenteau, age 58, a manager at Winchester Hospital, died peacefully Monday evening, May 19, at his Tewksbury home, surrounded by his family, after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer. He was the beloved husband of Constance V. "Connie" (Verrier) Parenteau, with whom he had celebrated a 34th wedding anniversary this past November 22nd.
He was born in Biddeford, Maine, July 13, 1949, a son of the late Lionel and Evelyn (Martin) Parenteau. He was raised in Biddeford and graduated from Biddeford High School. He went on to earn a Bachelors Degree in Finance from the University of Maine, in Orono. Following graduation, he relocated to Woburn and began his career at TechAid in Newton. He moved to the Finance Department at Boston Medical Center, and most recently was a Financial Manager at Winchester Hospital. He had lived in Tewksbury since 1985.
He was a proud member of the "Vintage Drivers" of the S-2000 Honda Car Club, and enjoyed a recent trip touring Nova Scotia with his wife in their sports car.
Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, Raymond R. Parenteau of Tewksbury; two sisters and their spouses; Jeanne Beal and her husband Joseph of Biddeford, ME, Margaret Gross and her husband Donald of Camden, ME; a brother and his wife, Jacques "Jack" and Bonnie Parenteau of Medfield, MA; his mother-in-law and father-in-law Janet (Cyr) and Raymond Verrier of Fairfield, ME; his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, John and Connie Verrier of Fairfield, ME, and Debra and William Barry of Portland, ME; and many nieces and nephews.
His Funeral Mass was held Friday, May 23, in St. William's Church, Tewksbury. Burial followed at St. Mary Cemetery, No. Tewksbury. Memorials to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701 will be appreciated.
