Doris M. (Leger) Rodriques, 81, of Fairhaven died Saturday May 17, 2008 at Taber Street Nursing Home.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Clarence and Eva (Cormier) Leger, she lived in New Bedford most of her life until moving to Fairhaven 20 years ago.
Mrs. Rodriques was formerly employed in various local textile mills and later worked for Delken Cleaners.
Survivors include her son, Gary Rodriques and his wife Christine of Fairhaven; a brother, Harry Leger of Acton; a sister, Yvonne Vaccaro and her husband Andrew of Bristol, RI; two grandchildren, Jeana Sargent and her husband Norman of Fairhaven and John Rodriques of Dahlonega, GA; two great-grandchildren, Meghan and Michael Sargent; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Anita Pinto and close friend of the late Celia Medeiros.
Her Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday at 11 AM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Wednesday from 10-11 AM prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the New Bedford Women's Center, 405 County St., New Bedford, MA 02740.
