Janeth Ann (Colson) Leger, age 70, of 84 Indigo Street, Mystic, died peacefully Friday evening at Pendleton in Mystic after a brief illness.
Mrs. Leger was born in Quincy, MA on August 29, 1935 the daughter of Irving F. and Mary G. (Gurney) Colson. Raised in Braintree, she attended local schools.
A homemaker, she devoted her life to her family, maintaining an active and important role in their lives and taking great pride in their accomplishments.
She was married to Kenneth E. Leger Sr. in Braintree on February 21, 1959. Mr. Leger died in 1999.
She is survived by her six children, Lynn Leger of Groton, Kenneth E. Leger Jr. of Mystic, Mary Handy and her husband Bryan of Preston, Glen Leger and his wife Nadine of Mystic, Danielle Duclos and her husband Bob of Mystic, and Michelle Lewerk and her husband Billy of Mystic; 11 grandchildren, Daniel Leger and his fiancé Cathy, Janelle Handy, Jessica Handy, Stephanie Duclos, Jo-Ellen Handy, Matthew Leger, Brittany Duclos, Jerrica Handy, Taylor Lewerk, Austin Lewerk, and Bailey Lewerk.; two great-grandchildren, Ashley and Brian Leger.; and a brother John Colson. She was predeceased by her siblings, Jean and Justin Colson.
Her family will greet relatives and friends at The Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, Historic downtown Mystic on Tuesday from 5-7pm.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Patrick Church, East Main Street, Mystic on Wednesday at 12noon. Private burial will be in the family plot at St. Patrick Cemetery, Old Mystic.
